Gordon Street Community Garden was, in 1997 a derelict piece of land and the Residents Association (One Voice) acquired the land and raised from North West Water £10k that was held by BTCV and that investment help us to put fencing around the garden, clear the land and open the very first Community Garden in the Borough. We started the In Bloom which became a borough wide project but we were the first Proud Winners of the Community Awards. Our Garden has been managed at different times by different groups. We remember proudly the days when we planted 400 hanging baskets and 300 Window/Wall Boxes.

Our Garden in New Hands
This week we have handed over the keys to Paul an ex Veteran who will lovingly care for the garden and encourage other veterans to share it.
